ICANN has canceled a second event scheduled for March due to travel restrictions and fears over Covid-19, a coronavirus.

The Middle East DNS Forum, scheduled for March 24-25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is postponed. ICANN will set a new date in coordination with the event host, the Communications and Information Technology Commission.

The announcement comes one week after ICANN canceled its planned March meeting in Cancun, Mexico. That event will now be held remotely.

Some other large conferences, especially ones that attract people from around the world, have canceled their winter/spring events after major corporations backed out. For example, this year’s Mobile World Congress, which attracts over 100,000 in Barcelona, was canceled.
