A UDRP provider just won a UDRP

An organization that resolves cybersquatting disputes filed a case of its own.

Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), a forum that hears Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) cases, has won a UDRP of its own.

The organization filed a UDRP against HKIAC.org.cn. It uses HKIAC.org for its website.

It turns out that HKIAC previously owned the subject domain name. It let it expire on February 24 this year, and then the Respondent registered it on April 17.

So where does this UDRP provider turn when it wants to file a UDRP? It chose the World Intellectual Property Organization, which is the largest UDRP provider.

Panelist Joseph Simone ordered the domain transferred to HKIAC.
