Capital One buys a domain, a .Org sells for $49k and more end user sales

Science.org sells for $49,000.

It was a big week for end user domain name sales at Sedo.

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) paid $49,000 for Science.org, which puts it in the top 30 public .org transactions of all time according to NameBio. Capital One bought a hyphenated domain name and New York Magazine bought a domain name for its new publication.

Here’s a list of end user domain names that were sold through Sedo’s platform over the past week.

Science.org $49,000 – American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). It is forwarding the domain to sciencemag.org.

Aswaq.com $32,000 – The domain name is still in escrow. Is the buyer the owner of AswaqPress.com?

TheStrategist.com $16,000 – The company that runs New York magazine bought TheStrategist.com for its new publication of that name. It sounds kind of like WireCutter, which was just purchased by The New York Times for $30 million.

Oshot.com $8,500 – The buyer is forwarding the domain name to oshot.info, a site that offers a new medical procedure for women.

Feelm.com $7,200 – Feelm, pronounced like Film, is a new site that will help people find movies.

Softec.com $5,900 – A company in the United Arab Emirates called Softec.

Ingos.com $5,000 – Ingos GmbH owns the domain name Ingos.de.

TexasToGo.com $3,650 – Tall City Delivery is a food delivery service in Midland, Texas.

Store-Card.com $2,799 – Credit card giant Capital One. StoreCard.com is owned by GoDaddy’s NameFind with an asking price of about $10,000.

GiveM.com $2,500 – 3 Million Club is a non-profit that lets people “order” aid online and track it as it gets delivered and put to use. Clever idea.

Nudge.ai $3,999 – Nudge is a sales and customer relationship system. It uses the domain name NeedNudge.com.

Public.io $2,999 – I don’t know for sure, but when I google the buyer’s name, I find someone involved with connecting government and tech in the UK.

Balcarce.com €5,750 – The domain name has whois privacy, but it’s forwarding to a cafe/dessert maker that uses the domain name postresbalcarce.com.ar.

CasinoRank.com $4,500 – This domain has whois privacy it’s already a functioning site that ranks online casinos.

CareMotion.com $5,850 – Care Motion offers wheelchairs, power wheelchairs and other mobility solutions.
